The surprise trip to see the new arrival

So my sister was due to have a little boy early to late May 2022 I did not know the exact date but thought it might be a nice surprise to just turn up when he arrived! After my 2021 trip to Australia for her wedding I was not that keen on the whole mask thing for 24hrs on a plane. The USA was the first country to remove masks from flights as soon as you boarded American Airlines the captain would come on and say please remove your mask if you want to! This would save me over 10 hrs flying time with a mask. So the plan was set Australia via the West coast of USA.

This trip would also involve a quick stop off in New Zealand to check out a car followed by a short flight across the tasman to Brisbane. Gifts on arrival were some custom CW Alexander Pyjamas planes trains and buses of course! Overall the flights and trip were pretty smooth with the transit via USA better than i expected LAX has had some big redevelopment over the past 15 years which has greatly impoved the experience.
